Chief Credit Officer
Position Overview
A growing financial services organization is seeking a Chief Credit Officer to lead underwriting, credit risk, and portfolio management functions. This executive-level role will be responsible for credit strategy, risk oversight, underwriting performance, and portfolio quality while supporting the company's continued growth. The ideal candidate brings strong leadership experience within commercial lending, alternative finance, fintech, or revenue-based financing environments and can balance disciplined risk management with sustainable business expansion.
Responsibilities
- Lead underwriting, credit, and risk management functions
- Develop and enhance credit policies, risk frameworks, and approval processes
- Oversee portfolio performance, pricing discipline, and risk exposure
- Manage and mentor underwriting and credit teams
- Review and approve high-value or complex transactions
- Partner with executive leadership on growth strategy and risk management
- Monitor portfolio trends, credit quality, and loss mitigation efforts
- Drive process improvements, automation, and underwriting efficiency
Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in underwriting, credit risk, commercial lending, alternative finance, or fintech lending
- 5+ years of leadership experience managing underwriting or credit teams
- Experience with MCA, revenue-based financing, commercial lending, or similar products
- Strong expertise in cash-flow underwriting, risk assessment, and portfolio management
- Excellent analytical, leadership, and decision-making skills
- Experience improving underwriting systems, workflows, or credit models preferred
Compensation & Benefits
- $150,000–$200,000 base + bonus depending on experience
