Position Overview

A nationwide provider of comprehensive school-based therapy services is seeking a Full-Time Behavior Coach/Interventionist to provide direct behavioral support and intervention services to students in a school setting in Surprise, Arizona. The position works with teachers, administrators, related service providers, and families to promote positive behavior, develop social-emotional skills, and support academic success through evidence-based strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Provide behavioral support to students individually and in small groups
  • Implement Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) and other behavior support strategies
  • Help students develop self-regulation, coping, communication, and social skills
  • Monitor behavior, collect data, and document interventions and progress
  • Collaborate with teachers, school staff, and families to provide consistent support
  • Support students during instruction, transitions, lunch, recess, and other school activities
  • Assist with crisis prevention and de-escalation using approved techniques
  • Reinforce positive behaviors using evidence-based interventions and support strategies
  • Participate in team meetings, IEP meetings, and professional development
  • Maintain confidentiality and comply with applicable district, state, and federal regulations

Qualifications

  • High school diploma required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Experience working with children or adolescents preferred
  • Knowledge of PBIS and/or ABA principles preferred
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Ability to maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to move throughout school campuses and classrooms
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and sit for extended periods
  • Ability to respond quickly during behavioral crises
  • Ability to assist with approved safety procedures when necessary
  • Ability to lift or assist with lifting up to 50 pounds, if required by district policy

Preferred Skills

  • Experience supporting students with ASD, ADHD, emotional/behavioral disorders, or other developmental disabilities
  • Familiarity with data collection and behavior tracking systems
  • CPI, Safety-Care, or other crisis prevention/de-escalation training is a plus

Compensation & Benefits

  • $24–$30/hour, commensurate with experience
  • Full-Time
  • 8 hours per day, Monday–Friday, while students are in session
  • School calendar; services provided while students are in session
