Position Overview 
We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Director of Nursing (DON) to lead clinical operations within a skilled nursing facility. Strong candidates will oversee nursing staff, maintain regulatory compliance, support quality resident outcomes, and help foster a positive and accountable clinical culture throughout the facility. 

The ideal candidate is proactive, operationally strong, adaptable, and capable of thriving within a fast-paced healthcare environment. 

Location: Wellsville, NY 
Employment Type: Full-Time, Onsite 
Salary Range: $105,000 – $135,000 USD /Annually

Key Responsibilities 

  • Oversee all nursing operations within the facility 
  • Lead, mentor, and support nursing staff across departments 
  • Ensure compliance with all state and federal healthcare regulations 
  • Maintain ongoing survey readiness and implement corrective action plans when necessary 
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to improve resident outcomes and operational performance 
  • Monitor staffing, scheduling, workflows, and nursing performance 
  • Support infection prevention, quality assurance, and clinical improvement initiatives 
  • Build and maintain a positive culture focused on accountability, teamwork, and resident care 
  • Provide leadership support during audits, inspections, and regulatory reviews 
  • Ensure proper documentation standards and clinical best practices are consistently followed 

Qualifications 

  • Active RN license in the applicable state 
  • Previous Director of Nursing (DON), Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON), or strong nursing leadership experience within skilled nursing or long-term care settings 
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory compliance, survey readiness, and healthcare operations 
  • Proven leadership and staff management experience 
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills 
  • Ability to perform effectively within fast-paced environments 
  • Strong understanding of clinical workflows, staffing coordination, and patient care standards 
  • Ability to lead with professionalism, accountability, and a team-oriented mindset 

Compensation
The published salary range is used as a guide to provide prospective candidates with a level of compensation that is competitive with today’s market. The salary range for this position is a good faith estimate that allows for flexibility to align with various levels of experience, education, and performance.
