Corrugate Lead
Position Overview:
A growing manufacturing and packaging company is seeking a Corrugate Lead to oversee daily operations within its corrugating department. This hands-on leadership role is responsible for supporting production employees, coordinating workflow, performing machine setups and adjustments, troubleshooting equipment issues, and ensuring production goals are achieved safely and efficiently.
The ideal candidate has experience operating corrugating or converting equipment, strong mechanical aptitude, and the ability to lead by example in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Success in this role will be measured by production uptime, product quality, safety performance, workflow efficiency, and team productivity.
Responsibilities include:
- Lead and support a team of corrugate production employees during assigned shifts
- Set up corrugating equipment according to job specifications and production requirements
- Review production orders to ensure materials, tooling, and resources are available before starting jobs
- Operate and monitor corrugating equipment to maintain safe and efficient production
- Make machine adjustments to ensure proper quality, dimensions, scoring, cutting, and glue application
- Troubleshoot routine equipment and production issues to minimize downtime
- Perform minor machine repairs and communicate larger maintenance concerns to the appropriate personnel
- Monitor production speeds, waste levels, downtime, and overall machine performance
- Coordinate production changeovers and help maintain an efficient production schedule
- Inspect finished products to ensure compliance with customer specifications and company quality standards
- Identify quality concerns and implement corrective actions when necessary
- Complete production reports, documentation, and operational records accurately
- Train and support new employees on equipment operation, safety procedures, and quality expectations
- Assign work, prioritize tasks, and provide day-to-day direction to production team members
- Promote a safe, productive, and professional work environment
- Communicate production needs, material shortages, equipment issues, and workflow concerns to supervisors
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
- Collaborate with production, maintenance, and management teams to meet operational goals
- Perform other duties as assigned by management
Qualifications:
- Previous experience operating corrugating equipment, converting machinery, or related manufacturing equipment required
- Previous lead, team lead, or supervisory experience preferred
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot basic equipment issues
- Experience performing machine setups, adjustments, and minor repairs
- Ability to read and interpret production orders, work instructions, and specifications
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Basic math skills and understanding of production measurements
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Ability to lift, move, and handle materials as required
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and work around production equipment for extended periods
Compensation & Benefits:
